Our missionary work and the churches in Canada

Why does our missionary work always have a good relationship with the churches in Canada? I want to tell a little about our history in missionary work and the connection we have with Canada.

I don't remember the exact date, but I believe it was between 1940 and 1950 my great-grandparents worked in the northern region of Brazil with a Canadian mission that aimed to reach indigenous tribes in the northern region of Brazil. My grandmother was born and raised among Canadian missionaries and made good friends.

My great-grandfather worked with the mission and had very low financial support. To support the family he worked as a tailor. Even with the help of the mission and working hard as a tailor, my great-grandfather lived very tight financially.

One day my great-grandfather found out how much money the mission's central secretariat sent to support him and he received much more. The mission leader in Brazil said he didn't give it all because he didn't need all that money.

My great-grandfather didn't mind that theft, but for my great-grandfather it was unbearable. They decided to leave the mission and live in São Paulo. My paternal grandmother still maintained good friendships with the children of the missionaries and after many years some supported the missionary work that my father developed in the northeast of Brazil.

And when my father was doing missions in the dry regions of northeastern Brazil, God said that he would take my father to another place and put a work in his hands. The work would grow and reach as far as Canada. I was a child and I heard my father repeating this promise in the family prayers that we had in our home.

The years passed and God sent us from the northeast to Paraguay. We started the Siloé Mission and one of the Siloé Mission projects is working with children and teenagers. A large part of the aid that arrives comes from the Mennonite colony of Paraguay, where there are many Canadian families.

I went to Bolivia and started the Evangelistic Support Program. I met a Canadian Gustavo Slampt who helped us to bring the containers with literature for evangelism into Bolivia. Gustavo got sick and had to go back to Canada and God raised up another Canadian brother who lives in Canada and continues to help us get evangelistic materials into Bolivia and other countries in South America

I have noticed that in recent months brothers in particular from various regions of Cadará have been following our work. We have already received offers to support the project of some brothers and I observe that this relationship is gradually growing. I believe that soon we will have a greater number of brothers participating in this project that expands throughout Latin America

Well, now I'm going to tell you why God is always putting Canadian brothers in our path, Canadian churches in our path in missions. It's not because of the problems with my great-grandparents 80 years ago, but because of the Word that the same God gave my parents. The Lord said, "The work will grow and will reach as far as Canada"

We kept this word for many years, we believed in it and today we are seeing the fulfillment of this word in our lives in the development of the missions service
