Mission trip to Bolivia July 2025

 EVANGELISTIC SUPPORT PROGRAM

In this post I would like to present our journey from Paraguay to the places we intend to visit in Bolivia where we have active Support Points.

As you can see on the map below, our goal is to leave the border region of Brazil with Paraguay, in the city of Pedro Juan Caballero, to the border with Bolivia. This is a journey of 680 kilometers. It usually takes 12 to 15 hours to travel. It all depends on the condition of the road.

In the border region, in the city of Corumbá, I will carry out the migration processes and will also be where the pamphlets for evangelization in Bolivia will be. The goal is to send them by mail from the border to the city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra.

I will go with my wife and son, who will stay in the border region to process some documentation. I have relatives in Corumbá who give us a lot of support for the missionary work we do. So, while my wife stays on the border between Brazil and Bolivia, I intend to continue traveling to the interior of Bolivia.

From the border region I want to visit the city of Pailon where the brothers of the Mennonite colony store the evangelistic materials (map below). I want to make this visit with Brother Nigel Mercado who is the general coordinator of the Evangelistic Support Program in Bolivia.

The brothers of the Mennonite colony are from the local Baptist church and have been very kind to us. Since 2017 they have been doing this wonderful job of receiving and storing the evangelistic materials. Whenever requested, small quantities are sent from Pailon to the city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra (usually about a ton of printed material).

I am constantly in contact with the brothers of Pailon, but it will certainly be a great blessing to be able to meet them in person again.

From Pailon, the goal is to visit some Support Points within Bolivia (see map below). We currently have 12 Support Points and some are in the northern region of Bolivia with very difficult access. Therefore, we will prioritize the Support Points that are in the Andes.

In the city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, we have our main Support Point, which is the place from where we distribute all the evangelistic material to the other regions of Bolivia. I want to bring together the local leadership and strengthen our vision of work, the care they must take with printed materials, the care with false workers, care with those who say they want to do evangelism, but their goal is to sell the materials, and other important matters.

Later, we want to visit the other Support Points and repeat the same process with the objective of strengthening the vision of work and encouraging the local evangelists to continue steadfastly in the work that has been entrusted to us.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

We will be visiting our brothers and sisters in Bolivia for several days. We will have to pay for fuel, accommodation, food and some documentation that I need to do in Santa Cruz de la Sierra.
