T oday I want to talk about the work carried out in the north of Brazil, in the state of Pará. In Marabá, Pará, we started a Support Point with the evangelist couple Nelson and Andreia. This couple serves the region in a Kombi that they have modified to make it a real home, as in many places there is nowhere to sleep, cook or have a place to rest. Thus, they transformed their Kombe into a "motohome" to attend evangelistic trips. Nelson and Andreia have supported many evangelists who are living in small villages in the Amazon jungle. They work during the dry season, as during the rainy season in the Brazilian Amazon it is almost impossible to drive through many roads. Several shipments of materials have already been sent to this Support Point, totaling 9 tons of printed material. The material is given out free of charge and the evangelists do the work by reaching out to families who are living in the middle of the Amazon jungle.  We have been through many struggles in the mission field. Many have abandoned support, but we have continued to advance.

  Yesterday I received messages from evangelists who are in Uruguay. These warriors for Christ are so happy to know that we are working hard for their country. An evangelist seeing the many boxes with evangelistic booklets entering Paraguay wrote to me: "Pastor, Uruguay also needs the gospel" I went to find out why to use the expression "Uruguay also needs". Why "also"? Then the brother told me that the churches work in other countries and nobody looks at Uruguay. This same cry for help I have heard from evangelists in Europe. "Nobody helps us" - This is the phrase I hear constantly. I remembered that a few years ago a Brazilian missionary was in Spain and asked for materials for evangelism. I had the materials in our Support Base in Bolivia and I needed resources for shipping. So I went to talk to several leaders and they all denied help.   EVANGELISTIC SUPPORT PROGRAM In the last few days I've been working a lot for our trip to Uruguay, but today I woke up with this thought: "What if you do evangelism in your city?" Yes, I'm talking about you reading this email. What if you take the written Word of God into your own city? Usually, when I encourage the brothers, the answer is: "Here in my city / or country, this type of work is not working." In South America tract evangelism works, but not here in Europe. In Brazil, evangelism using printed materials works very well, but here in the United States or Canada it does not work.   EVANGELISTIC SUPPORT PROGRAM I've been talking to several evangelists in Uruguay and looking for ways to get the materials out. Unfortunately, the two missions that send materials all over the world have no one receiving evangelistic materials in Uruguay. Thus, we discard the possibility of sending to some missions that already does the import work. Sending by Uruguayan post is complicated, as there is a fee to withdraw. That is, even if we pay the shipping, the evangelists will have to pay a fee to remove the boxes. Ecuador, Bolivia and other countries in South America charge this fee and it complicates the work for evangelists. You can tell me that every evangelist can look for ways to pay. But, brother, usually evangelists are poor people and use the little resources to get around and carry out the work, as well as their own maintenance.   EVANGELISTIC SUPPORT PROGRAM The year 2023 was a pivotal year for major design changes. This year we completely changed our work strategy, mainly in view of the great difficulty we had in serving the Support Points within Brazil. In 2021, we started opening several Support Points within Brazil, but the cost of taking materials to each Support Point was high. So we had the need to open Support Bases in strategic regions both for the delivery of materials within Brazil, as well as for distribution. The target has been to reduce freight costs and serve the largest number of Support Points and, consequently, have a greater reach of lives with the Word of God.   Yesterday I received several messages from evangelists who are in the city of Juazeiro da Bahia. In 2021 we took 2675 kilos of printed materials for evangelism. I traveled to the region and spent three days visiting the Support Point giving instructions on how leaders should work in support of evangelists. The result was wonderful, as many groups were mobilized from various churches. There was an awakening to evangelistic work not only in the local town, but we started to mobilize groups from the neighboring small towns.   EVANGELISTIC SUPPORT PROGRAM Since 2021 we started work in the northern region, but I realized that we would not make progress because the leader did not have a greater vision in the evangelistic work. We already have experience that starting a Support Point with someone who is focused on pastoral work will not advance further evangelistic support. Many pastors believe that supporting evangelism work won't be a lot of work, but it really is a lot of work. Thus, as is to be expected from pastors, the pastoral work of the church is prioritized and work in support of evangelism is left behind. Well, even so, the work was done a little slowly and was completed a long time later. The problem is that we will not have continuity, as we do not intend to continue working with the same leader there, but we pray for someone who has a greater vision in the evangelistic work.  Don't think that those who do missions are just those in the field. Analyzing the Scriptures we find the story of the widow of Serepta. She was not called by God to prophesy to the king, to leave her land, none of that. She was called to support a project of God that was in progress. And who called that woman? Who appointed and chose that woman for that job? God himself called that widow to support the ministry of the prophet Elijah. Thus, she had a call from God and she was a participant in the work that Elijah himself was involved in. The God who called and inserted Elijah in that mission also called that widow to keep the mission The Word of God says: “Arise, go to the Serephath of Sidon, and dwell there. I commanded a widow woman there to support you ′′ (1 Kings 17.9). I don't find in the Word that that woman was aware that God had involved her in the prophet's work.   The good news we have is that we got a port to equip the Support Point in Ciudad del Este in Paraguay. The likelihood is that we will receive 1500 kilos of printed materials initially in Paraguay, so we won't need to bring the evangelistic materials from Brazil. I believe that soon I will be giving more information about the evangelistic work in Paraguay. We maintain the target of having Support Points in each country in South America. We are receiving daily information about the work done in the northern region of Brazil. Evangelists are daily taking the Word of God to the people. They don't preach to earn money, but they use their own money to pay for bus tickets, buy equipment and also buy printed materials to distribute to the people. Usually churches don't do support, but we understand the work they do and we support them. I know that buying printed materials is very expensive and it is more difficult for those who have little, but we can help these warriors and give away the written Word of God for free We move forward with the work and we are reaching thousands of lives with the Word of God PHOTO: This is one of the evangelists from Bolivia. Materials are given free of charge and all we ask evangelists for is information on the work being done, how it is being used and where they are using the materials.

The support work for the evangelists in Bolivia is still going strong. In 2022 Bolivia received three containers with evangelistic materials and this year another container is being prepared for Bolivia.  We continue to move forward with the support work in South America. There are many evangelists who receive the Word of God printed for free and, thus, thousands of lives are reached with the Word of salvation.   We got another shipment to serve the evangelists who are in the northern region of Brazil. There are 200 kilos of printed materials to serve the state of Roraima, bordering Venezuela and British Guiana. Thank you so much for your prayers and financial support.

 We continue to work to bring the Word of God to every gospel needy region in the nation of Bolivia. The number of registered evangelists who receive materials for free grows every month and at the beginning of May four more Support Points were created within Bolivia Below I will put a video where I show the arrival of a container with printed materials for evangelism in Bolivia. This container arrived in October 2020. In 2021, we started a Support Point in the state of Bahia, Brazil. Almost 3 tons of printed materials were taken to the city of Juazeiro da Bahia. Through Sister Elenice's work, many local evangelists were located and support was provided free of charge. Unfortunately Elenice had to move her residence to São Paulo and we were left without a local leader. We are praying that God will give us the conditions to reactivate the Support Point in the city of Juazeiro da Bahia The video above has subtitles in English, German, French and other languages. The support work continues in full growth in Bolivia. We have worked for 15 years in Bolivia to organize 5 Support Points within Bolivia and from January 2021 to the present date we have doubled the number of Support Points within the nation of Bolivia. Until 2020 we received a 40ft container to serve evangelists from Bolivia and the border region, but currently with the growing number of evangelists we have increased the number of materials. By the end of 2022, we had received 3 containers with printed materials. Keep praying for this missionary work
